New Job, New Obsession

so my job as an assistant librarian is going well. the staff is really nice. the students for the most part are good kids. i want to steal one 6th grade boy because he is just so flippin adorable. it's not that stressful of a job.

but those darn kids have started a new obsession with me. and that obsession is:

TWILIGHT!

we have a long waiting list for the twilight books. one day we had a copy waiting for a student. i read like 6 pages. came back the next day, and she still hadn't come get it. so i started reading again, and by the time i had to leave, i had read almost 200 pages. haha so then i took the book home. and read more the next day, and took it home over the weekend because she still hadn't come get it. i finished that book in 2 days.

i just couldn't put it down! i don't know what it is about these books that just suck you in! stephanie meyer is by no means the best writer. sometimes i swear a 12 year old was writing this, not an adult woman. some of the dialogue is just ridiculous. i laughed out loud while reading many times because the way she described things were ridiculously cheesy and such. she repeats herself a lot in the book too. but it's an easy read, and it flows pretty well, and the story is decent. so maybe those factors helped me become addicted to it. haha

i'm reading new moon right now. i'm taking my time on that. i felt like i read twilight too fast.

i still haven't seen the movie. grr! but i'm going to watch it illegally tonight. i have no one to go see it. and there is no local theater. so i have no idea when i would be bale to go watch it. but i still plan to watch it in the theater. i need to see some SPARKLING up close on a huge screen!

but yeah, not much else going on in my life. work, read, eat, sleep. haha

OH! if anyone is wanting some new music, my good friend Steven has a music page on myspace. his project is called The Resound. he's really good and has a FREE EP. so go check him out, if you want.

another OH! i downloaded the twilight soundtrack and i'm am SOOOOO obsessed with this iron and wine song. it's so effin beaituful.

here's the version on the cd:

and here is a live performance:

this song seriously gives me the warm fuzzies and makes me want to cry everytime i hear it. and it has nothing to do with twilight. it's a legit AMAZING song.

obama response

so i just wrote this on my myspace. i was getting sick of seeing my friend's bash obama. i never bashed mccain. when i debated with a friend over the two, i stuck strictly to the issues, while my friend went off the deep end comparing Obama to Charles Manson. Yes, the psycho killer, Charles Manson.

so here is what i wrote with teh subject line "get over it people!":

Obama won! This could be one of the most positive changes in American history. We won't know until he is actually in office and see what he does.

He could be making empty promises for all I know, but McCain could have done the same when he got into office.

I know both men campaigned hard. They both seemed sincere in what they said and wanted nothing but the best for OUR country. It was sad to see McCain's speech last night because someone doesn't run for President for nothing. He gave his all.

I'm a registered Independent, but for sure lean on the Democrat side. And just because, I guess you can call me a Democrat, doesn't mean I'm going to be sitting on my ass doing nothing and not contributing to society. I have a job. I have just as much financial strife as the next person and want to keep as much of my money as I can. So don't assume everyone who voted for Obama are lazy fucks.

It is time to come together as one country, and start the change.

If McCain won, yes I would be upset. But there is nothing I could do about it. I would accept it, move on, and make the best of the situation.

Like I said before, we won't know anything until he gets in office on January 20, 2009.

But we all have witnessed history last night. It is amazing what developed in a few hours. You cannot hate on that.

So everyone get off your high horse and come together as one.

I'm so proud to be an American right now. This is an awesome time in our country.
EMBRACE IT!

WTF WORLD!!!

seriously, what is up with this year.

i woke up to the news of another friend of mine who died.

His name is Dion Mueller, and he was 19. He was still a baby.

He died in a car accident. A ploce car hit him.

Here's the artcile from the Milwaukee news:

SHEBOYGAN - A sheriff's deputy was injured and a 19-year-old driver was killed when the deputy's squad car collided with the man's car early Monday morning.

According to the sheriff's department, the deputy was responding to assist another deputy who was fighting with a person he was attempting to arrest.

The responding deputy was southbound on CTH OK in the Town of Wilson just before 1:30. As the deputy approached Stahl Road, a westbound vehicle pulled into the intersection. The westbound traffic on Stahl Road is regulated by a stop sign.

The squad struck the other vehicle and both cars rolled into the ditch along side the highway. The squad caught on fire. The deputy was able to exit the squad with assistance from other officers.

The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 19-year-old man from the City of Sheboygan Falls, was the only occupant of the car.

The deputy was treated and later released from St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan for non-life threatening injuries. The deputy is a 7-year veteran of the sheriff’s department.

Roads around the accident scene were closed down for many hours while the Wisconsin State Patrol investigated the crash and did the accident reconstruction.
